St. Mary's was established as a parish of the Diocese of Crookston in 1906. Construction of St. Mary's second church located on Roberts Street began in 1952 under the direction of Father Shanahan. The logs were hand cut and peeled by parishioners and came from Pine Island. Since then, St. Mary's located to Cedar Avenue and was dedicated May 20th, 2007.
Faith, hope and charity go together. Hope is practiced through the virtue of patience, which continues to do good even in the face of apparent failure, and through the virtue of humility, which accepts God's mystery and trusts Him even at times of darkness. Faith tells us that God has given His Son for our sakes and gives us the victorious certainty that it is really true: God is Love! (no.39)
Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est ("God Is Love")
